Lithuania's poverty indicators remain among the highest in the European Union, with one in five people at risk of poverty or social exclusion, according to the EU's statistical office.

Some 28.3 percent of the Lithuanian population were at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2018, one of the highest rates in the EU, the latest figures from the EU statistical office Eurostat showed on Wednesday.
Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė, who supported the ruling coalition's plans half a year ago, has changed her opinion and now criticizes the education system overhaul and some other reforms proposed by the government, Gitanas Nausėda, an adviser to SEB Bankas' president, said on Thursday.
