Ignitis named as Lithuania’s new largest tax payer

State-owned electricity and gas supplier Ignitis paid the highest amount of taxes to the Lithuanian budget in the first quarter of 2023, overtaking AB Orlen Lietuva, long-time leader among tax payers, Verslo žinios business news portal (vz.lt) reports.

The Mažeikiai-based oil refinery had ranked first in all the State Tax Inspectorate’s (VMI) lists of the 500 largest taxpayers since 2012.
