Five Russian spies were expelled from Lithuania last year

The State Security Department (VSD) has published its activity report for 2022, whose goal is to inform the public about how its tasks and objectives set in the Law on Intelligence were carried out. The report revealed that 5 Russian intelligence officers were expelled from Lithuania last year.

The agency stated that Russian intelligence officers were operating in Lithuania under diplomatic guise. It notes that the intensity of Russian information operations, as well as radio-electronic and cyber espionage remain high.
