Banking Association: new tax on banking sector may have negative economic consequences

The European Central Bank (ECB) has expressed its opinion concerning the proposed new tax on banks, a temporary solidarity contribution, planned to be introduced in Lithuania.

The Lithuanian Banking Association (LBA) agrees with the ECB’s concern that the new tax would have negative effects on the country’s banking system and economy.
