Šakiai councillor faces allegations of vote-buying

A pre-trial investigation has been launched into a suspicion of vote-buying in the recent municipal elections in the Šakiai district.

The Marijampolė District Prosecutor’s Office is leading a pre-trial investigation against Vaidas Zimnickas who was elected to the council of the Šakiai district in March. Zimnickas was notified Thursday of the suspicions that he bribed voters.
