President’s adviser: Putin’s statements about deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus is not propaganda

Lithuanian president’s chief adviser on national security, Kęstutis Budrys, says Russia’s threats to deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus is not propaganda because preparation for that has been observed for some time and this should not be linked solely to the upcoming NATO Summit in Vilnius this July.

“Undoubtedly this will shape the security environment surrounding us whether it [the nuclear weapon] is brought or not. This is happening close in our neighbourhood seeking for escalation in relations with the West,” Budrys said Tuesday in an interview to the radio station Žinių radijas.
