More than 23,000 cast ballots on first day of early voting in second round of mayoral elections

Early voting in the second round of 2023 mayoral elections began in Lithuania on 14 March and 23,181 cast ballots on the first day, or 1.63% of all voters on the electoral roll.

All municipal councils have been elected already in 60 municipalities. Mayors have been elected in 26 out of 60 municipalities in the first round on 5 March but 34 are yet to be elected in the runoff voting round. More than 1.42 million voters are on the electoral roll in 34 polling districts.
