LSDP, LVŽS and Conservatives continue to make gains in municipal elections

Lithuania held municipal and mayoral elections on 5 March. As votes continued to be counted, preliminary results showed that the Social Democratic Party (LSDP), the Farmers and Greens Union (LVŽS) and Conservatives (TS-LKD) were making gains.

Data published by the Central Electoral Commission (VRK) indicate that by midnight votes were counted in 1,278 out of 1,927 polling districts.
As the situation stood at the time, the LSDP would secure 23.46% of seats in municipal councils, the LVŽS – 12.89%, the TS-LKD – 12.56%.
