Conservative candidate sees himself in second round of Vilnius mayoral election

Conservative mayoral candidate in Vilnius city Valdas Benkunskas expects to be one of the two leading contenders in the first round on 5 March and competing in runoff voting that would take place in a fortnight.

“Overall tendencies seem to show that we will enter the second round of mayoral elections and, so far at this day and this moment, that I am the most trusted by Vilnius residents,” Benkunskas, incumbent deputy mayor, told reporters on Sunday night.
