Kaunas mayor vows that his business will exit Russian market

Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis, who is striving for the third mayoral term, vowed on the night of municipal and mayoral elections that his business, Vičiūnai grupė, would eventually exit the Russian market due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“All citizens [of Kaunas] know that my son, I and employees of Vičiūnai are people of their word. (&) We are not guilty that the war [in Ukraine] started. We are exiting [the Russian market],” the mayor told reporters.
