Farmers and Greens will address Constitutional Court over recognition of Landsbergis as head of state

The Political Group of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (LVŽS) in the Seimas has started collecting signatures for the address to the Constitutional Court over the recognition of Vytautas Landsbergis as the first head of state of Lithuania after the restoration of the country’s independence in 1990.

LVŽS leader Ramūnas Karbauskis says the Constitutional Court must elucidate if Landsbergis, then chairman of the Supreme Council-Reconstituent Seimas, may be de jure considered to be the first head of state of Lithuania.
