Liberal Movement’s leader is optimistic about municipal elections

Parliament Speaker Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen on Tuesday morning voted in advance in municipal and mayoral elections. The leader of the Liberal Movement told the media she was optimistic that the party would fare well in the race.

“We have a number of mayors who have earned the trust of their communities. This of course is the case in Joniškis, Tauragė, Trakai, Plungė, Rietavas, Pagėgiai. I think mayors there have great chances. Yet we also have young candidates, new candidates in other cities and towns, so I look rather optimistically at these elections,” the head of parliament told reporters in Lukiškės Square.
