Nausėda calls to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from Olympics

President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda believes that Russian and Belarusian athletes should not be allowed to compete in the Olympic Games as long as Russia is engaged in its war against Ukraine.

“We must seek full international isolation of Russia for as long as it continues its brutal war in Ukraine. Our ‘must do’ is banning Russian and Belarusian athletes from the Olympics. There’s no way they can compete as usual while their countries are executing genocide in the middle of Europe,” President Nausėda tweeted on Monday.
