A1 motorway will be temporarily closed in Kaunas to remove collapsed bridge section

A stretch of A1 motorway connecting Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda will be temporarily closed in Kaunas on Friday night to remove the collapsed structure of the old Meškinis bridge over the Neris River.

A contractor was authorised to continue the demolition of the six-decade-old bridge built in 1964 whose one section collapsed when it was being dismantled on 14 February.
