Investigation launched into suspected smuggling of banned pesticides

Klaipėda Regional Prosecutor’s Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into suspected smuggling of 7.5 tonnes of pesticides banned in Lithuania.

It is suspected that last summer more than 7.5 tonnes of plant protection products that are not registered in the EU were transported by ship from China to Klaipėda seaport. The shipment is worth approximately EUR 71,000.
