Conservatives address Veterinary Service over Vičiūnai food product safety

A group of Conservative lawmakers addressed the State Veterinary Service (VMVT) over the safety of food products supplied by Vičiūnai company group in Lithuania and Ukraine.

It has transpired that Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis’ company imported from China to Lithuania 22 tonnes of seafood with excessive cadmium levels. Some of the goods were exported to Ukraine, but some were seized in Lithuania.
