Far-right German MP went to Belarus when on visit to Seimas

Petr Bystron, a far-right Bundestag member who visited the Seimas last autumn at the invitation of MP Remigijus Žemaitaitis, did in fact secretly travel to Belarus, an investigation by the LRT portal shows.

“According to a request submitted to the Bundestag, Bystron was to make parliamentary contacts in Lithuania and meet with representatives of civil society. However, after taking a few photos and drinking coffee at the Seimas, he left for Belarus via the Medininkai border post on 16 November, returning to Lithuania 3 days later,” the public broadcaster’s portal reports.
