Seimas speaker agrees that unlawful surveillance accusations against police should be examined

Parliament Speaker Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen believes that claims of unlawful surveillance by the police should be examined after an ex-police officer made public accusations.

Algimantas Martinkus, former officer at the Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau (LKPB), has addressed the Seimas asking it to establish an ad hoc parliamentary investigation commission to probe the actions of high-ranking police officers, including former head of the LKPB Rolandas Kiškis, his then deputy Andžejus Roginskis and former head of the Immunity Board Elanas Jablonskas, as well as other high-ranking officers.
