Anušauskas: ammunition and weaponry must be sent to Ukraine right now

President Gitanas Nausėda has mentioned that Ukraine is expecting another large-scale assault by Russia in February. Afterwards, Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas stated that the West must supply more weapons to Ukraine immediately.

“Russia is trying to take over the initiative, but so far it has succeeded in this only locally. This does not mean that the situation of Ukrainians has improved much or that Ukrainians do not have to do anything and just wait for the Russian military to fail somewhere. This is not the case. Ukrainians must expend tremendous effort, Ukraine’s partners must send a huge amount of weaponry, ammunition right now,” Anušauskas told reporters Thursday.
