Ministry of Justice: Lithuania cannot seize frozen Russian assets without EU’s decision

Although Estonia plans to seize frozen Russian assets and transfer them to Ukraine, yet Lithuania’s Justice Ministry says Lithuania cannot do so without the European Union adopting relevant legal decisions first.

The Ministry of Justice has informed the news agency ELTA that Lithuania constantly raises the issue with its partners on various EU formats regarding a solution on the issue that would meet EU law and guarantee international human rights.
