103 lawmakers backed plans to send up to 40 troops and civilian national defense system personnel to partake in the EU's military support operation for Ukraine in EU members states next year, and also send up to 25 troops and civilian national defense system personnel to participate in the UK-led Interflex multinational operation to train and support training purposes for the Ukrainian army.

"Allied efforts to increase support to Ukraine through military training are expanding and new missions are being launched to support Ukraine. Lithuania will actively contribute to them as our security depends on Ukraine's security. We will support Ukraine until victory and we will continue to train Ukrainian troops after the war," National Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas said in a statement.

In 2023, the Lithuanian army will train around 1,500 Ukrainian troops, including 1,100 in Lithuania, the Ministry of National Defense said.
