Hourly wage costs up by 13.9% in Q3

In the third quarter of 2022, the hourly labour costs rose by 2.9% in the euro area and by 3.4 % in the EU, compared with the same quarter of the previous year. These figures are published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

The two main components of labour costs are wages and salaries and non-wage costs. In the euro area, wages and salaries per hour worked increased by 2.1%, while the non-wage component rose by 5.3% in the third quarter of 2022, compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
