"We have a new approach to the patient at all levels – speed, quality and patient's health," Dulkys told reporters at the opening of the new center in Kaunas on Friday.

According to Kaunas Clinics, the emergency telemedicine service will be provided to patients and doctors in the emergency department when a professional opinion of another doctor on a patient's diagnosis, further examination and treatment will be needed.

Patients' conditions will be assessed by two doctors, including a doctor working directly in the emergency department of a district or regional hospital, and a doctor working remotely in the emergency telemedicine centers at Kaunas Clinics, or Santara Clinics or Republican Vilnius University Hospital in Vilnius.

These projects have been allocated 3 million euros, with a further investment of 4 million euros planned in the future.

Kaunas Clinics says the new center will improve the quality and accessibility of emergency medical services for the regional population.
