The decision on revoking his citizenship was taken by Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite in response to the Migration Department's proposal. The latter said Kaminskas gad become a Russian citizen and was, therefore, was not entitled to multiple citizenship.
According to the Interior Ministry, the Migration Department conducted its own investigation into the circumstances after Kaminskas refused to cooperate. The fact that he became a Russian citizen was confirmed by records from Russia's register of legal entities.
The Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT's Investigations Team reported earlier that Adolfas Kaminskas is married to Yelena Kaminskas, nee Shebunova, a Russian citizen. She is a former girlfriend of the Russian defense minister and they share two children. The Kaminskas also have two children together.
