Vilnius public transport drivers begin indefinite strike

The trade union of Vilnius public transport company Vilniaus viešasis transportas (VVT) launched an indefinite strike on Monday morning, 5 December, demanding for higher salaries and better working conditions.

Head of VVT trade union Algirdas Markevičius told the news agency ELTA that the strike was the outcome of the company’s “autocratic” style of management, disregarding its employees, their expectations and interests.
