Kasčiūnas: defence systems in Poland could shield part of Ukraine

The chair of the Seimas Committee on National Security and Defence says that it is vital to step up air defence of NATO member states in response to missile explosions in Poland two weeks ago. The shielding of Polish airspace could also cover part of the Ukrainian territory, the MP suggests.

“Now we need to turn the whole analysis towards a very simple question – what do we do next? How do we shield the skies of the NATO countries in this case? In what way we protect the airspace of NATO countries from missile strikes, from possible incidents that could be very real,” Laurynas Kasčiūnas told on a LRT radio broadcast on Tuesday.
