Landsbergis calls on Turkey for swift approval of Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis says he has told his Turkish counterpart that a quick process of approving Sweden and Finland as NATO members would greatly increase regional security, the Financial Times reported on Saturday.

According to the daily, Lithuania has warned Turkey that its delay in approving Sweden and Finland’s applications to join NATO is not just putting their security at risk but that of the entire Baltic region.
