Baltpool: biofuel prices down by nearly a third

The warm autumn and falling consumption have reduced biofuel prices by 27% since their peak in early autumn, says Vaidotas Jonutis, trading manager of the biomass exchange Baltpool. Heating prices are also likely to go down by a tenth as a result of cheaper biofuels, he predicted.

Jonutis told the Seimas Committee on Economics that in the late summer biofuels cost EUR 45–50 per MWh and that long-term biofuel supply deals were settled at this price from late August to early September.
