Law enforcement investigating corruption at Veterinary Service finds EUR 300,000 in cash

The Special Investigation Service (STT) is carrying out a probe into corruption at the State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT). Law enforcement suspects that the staff of the veterinary agency demanded bribes from businesses.

During searches, more than EUR 300,000 in cash was discovered in the possession of state officials and their family members. The pre-trial investigation is carried out into suspected bribery, graft and trading in influence.
