MP Gedvilas denies he had planned to leave Labour Party

MP Aidas Gedvilas, who has announced his withdrawal from the opposition’s Labour Party, denies he had planned to leave it. The politician says he is resigning from the party after obtaining an audio recording in which its leader Andrius Mazuronis can allegedly be heard bad-mouthing him.

“Very objective reasons have emerged that did not leave me a choice. (&) I have addressed party colleagues, I had to state the reason why I was leaving and at this minute I do not have more to add,” Gedvilas told the news agency ELTA.
