By 27% more new buildings were completed in Q3

In Q3 2022, 2,193 new residential and non-residential buildings were completed, i.e. by 27.2 percent more than in the respective quarter of 2021, reports Statistics Lithuania.

Over the quarter, construction of 1,982 new residential buildings with 3,456 dwellings was started, 63.7 percent of them – in individual houses. The useful floor area of the new dwellings whose construction was started amounted to 361.3 thousand m² and, compared to Q3 2021, increased by 28.8 percent. The average useful floor area of a dwelling in individual house amounted to 131 m², in block of flats – 58.1 m². Two buildings for residential purposes (hostels) for accommodation of persons belonging to various social groups with useful floor area of 0.8 thousand m² was completed.
