Nord Pool revises rules in response to Baltic requests

The electricity exchange operator Nord Pool will change market rules to significantly reduce the maximum limit of prices on the exchange following requests by the regulatory authorities of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, the National Energy Regulatory Council (VERT) said on Wednesday.

As reported, the new rules will “significantly reduce” the likelihood of maximum electricity prices on the exchange. The maximum price recorded up until now has stood at EUR 4 thousand per MWh, it was reached on August 18 in the Baltic States.
