"At the moment, the inflow has gone down. Last month we had over a hundred incoming war refugees from Ukraine every day. And now, last week, we registered few than 80," she told the public radio LRT on Sunday.

Lithuania is bracing itself for an increase in the number of war refugees from Ukraine as the weather gets colder and the Russians continue to damage the energy infrastructure in Ukraine.

The majority of incoming Ukrainians have stayed in Lithuania, Gudzinskaite said, adding that the number of outgoing Ukrainians is small.

Official statistics show that some 70,000 Ukrainians have arrived in Lithuania since the outbreak of the war.
