PM supports Riflemen Union’s reform

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė supports the proposed reform of the Riflemen’s Union that foresees granting more independence to the organisation and improving its self-regulation mechanisms.

According to the prime minister, the Riflemen’s Union, a paramilitary organisation supported by the state, should be attractive not only when its members take oaths, but for the entire duration of membership, whereas its members should be active and not merely membership fee payers.
