Electricity price down by 25%

On 24-30 October, compared with the previous week, electricity price in Lithuania and Latvia dropped by 25% to EUR 141.04 per MWh. Electricity price in Estonia decreased by 19% to EUR 139.24 per MWh last week.

According to independent electricity supplier Elektrum Lietuva, last week, electricity prices were mostly influenced by lower prices of natural gas and coal, as well as by a 16% increase in electricity generation by wind farms. Electricity prices were also influenced by 55% greater electricity flow from Sweden’s SE4 trading area on the Nord Pool power market.
