Minister supports extending lower rate VAT on restaurants for entire year, not just 6 months

Minister of Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė supports the proposal that the reduced rate value added tax (VAT) of 9% on restaurants, culture and sports events would continue to apply for entire 2023 rather than just for the first six months of the year.

Armonaitė told the public radio LRT on Monday that a reduced rate VAT was planned as part of an assistance package to businesses. She believes it would be a wiser option to extend the reduced rate VAT for the entire year.
