Šimonytė: government approved VST chief’s dismissal by mutual agreement

The opposition intends to interpellate Minister of the Interior Agnė Bilotaitė following claims by the former head of the Public Security Service (VST) Ričardas Pocius that he was being pressured to resign, yet Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė stressed that Pocius was dismissed by mutual agreement and the move was approved jointly by the Government.

“The decision was adopted by the entire Government. Let us note that he was dismissed by mutual agreement. Therefore, this was the will of the general himself. Minister Bilotaitė did not make any unilateral decisions,” Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Ieva Skarelytė told the news agency ELTA.
