Opposition plans to interpellate minister following VST chief’s resignation

The opposition demands for the interior minister’s explanation after Ričardas Pocius, who has resigned as the head of the Public Security Service (VST), claimed that he was pressured to step down because of riots near parliament in August 2021. The Labour Party and Democrats For Lithuania have summoned Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė for a meeting before deciding if she should be interpellated.

Chairman of the Labour Party’s Political Group Viktoras Fiodorovas says the opposition should decide on Thursday whether to initiate an interpellation.
