Klaipėda port handles 34% of all cargo handled by seaports of Baltic States

Lithuanian, Estonian and Latvian seaports (Klaipėda, Tallinn, Riga, Liepaja and Ventspils) handled more than 80 million tons of cargo in nine months of 2022. Klaipėda seaport handled 34% of the total amount of cargo.

Director General of Klaipėda State Seaport Authority, Algis Latakas, says Lithuania’s port is turning from an exporting and transit port to an importing port. According to him, cargo handling has been diversified and Klaipėda port is handling nearly all possible types of cargo.
