Government presents 2023 draft budget and business support package

On Friday, 7 October, the Government presented the 2023 draft budget and a business support package. Budgetary income is projected at EUR 15.62 billion, while budgetary appropriations are at EUR 18.6 billion. The budget deficit is forecast to amount to 4.9% of the gross domestic product (GDP), while public debt would stand at 43% of GDP.

Minister of Finance Gintarė Skaistė said GDP should grow by 1.4% in 2023, whereas average annual inflation would stand at 6%.
EUR 812 will be earmarked for compensating gas and electricity prices for households. EUR 446 million will be allocated for compensating electricity prices for businesses.
