In July 2022, according to the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which is methodologically harmonised with those of other EU member states, average annual inflation stood at 13.2%, average annual inflation calculated based on the consumer price index (CPI) – at 13.4%, reports Statistics Lithuania.

Annual inflation (July 2022, against July 2021) stood at 20.9%, the CPI-based one – 21.6%.

Annual inflation calculated based on the HICP was mainly influenced by an increase in prices for fuels and lubricants, heat energy, milk and milk products, cheese and eggs, electricity, meat and meat products, bread and cereals, solid fuel, vegetables, products and materials for maintenance and repair of the dwelling, as well as by a decrease in prices for information processing equipment.

Change in prices for consumer goods and services in July 2022, compared to June, made up 0.8%, that calculated based on the CPI – at 1.2%.
