“There are such plans, and the specific dates are still being coordinated with Ukrainian colleagues. I hope I will be able to pay another visit [to Ukraine] in the near time, – he told the public broadcaster LRT on Monday night. – The plan would be to visit Odessa.”

Moscow and Kyiv agreed in Istanbul last month to resume shipments of wheat and other grain from Ukrainian ports for the first time since Russia invaded its neighbor in February.

Under the deal, backed by the United Nations and brokered by Turkey, the first ship, loaded with 26,000 tons of maize, set off from Odessa on August 1 and reached its port of destination on Monday.

Landsbergis said that he planned to travel specifically to Odessa as Lithuania had “contributed significantly to the export of grain”.

Asked how Vilnius could further help Ukraine attacked by the Kremlin, the minister answered that it was mostly political and diplomatic assistance in “rallying support in international organizations”.
