Data published by Statistics Lithuania indicates that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 1,191,996 since the outbreak of the pandemic. Currently, there are 20,855 active cases.
The death toll due to COVID-19 stands at 9,223. Two people died of COVID-19 on Friday, nobody died on Saturday, but three patients died on Sunday.
The average number of new daily cases in the last 7 days is 1,199. The incidence rate per 100,000 residents in the last 14 days is 569.9. The positive test rate in the last 7 days stands at 52.4%.
By now, 4,494,211 vaccine doses have been administered and 940,328 people have been fully vaccinated.
As of 8 August, 126 people are undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in hospitals. Nine people are being treated in intensive care units.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 6,584,654 molecular PCR tests, 2,202,066 antigen tests and 1,286,130 antibody tests have been carried out.
