According to Statistics Lithuania, 973 people contracted the virus for the first time, 384 for the second time and 16 for the third time.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country has increased to 1,190,172 since the outbreak of the pandemic. Currently 20,633 people are ill.
The death toll due to COVID-19 in Lithuania stands at 9,218.
The average number of new daily cases in the last 7 days is 1,159. The incidence rate per 100,000 residents in the last 14 days is 557.8. The positive test rate in the last 7 days stands at 51.8%.
On 4 August, 278 residents were vaccinated against coronavirus: 62 with the first vaccine dose, 61 with the second dose and 86 with booster shots (third dose).
On Thursday, 29 people were hospitalised due to COVID-19 and now 126 hospital beds allocated for coronavirus patients are occupied. Seven people are being treated in intensive care units.
On Thursday, 259 molecular PCR cases, 2,186 antigen tests and 122 antibody tests were carried out.
