Data published by Statistics Lithuania indicates that 936 people contracted the virus for the first time, 326 for the second time and 13 for the third time.

The total number of confirmed cases in the country has increased to 1,181,995 since the outbreak of the pandemic. Currently, 17,006 people are ill.

The death toll due to COVID-19 stands at 9,208 in Lithuania. One unvaccinated person from the age group 70-79 years died on Thursday.
The average number of new daily cases in the last 7 days is 1,062. The incidence rate per 100,000 residents in the last 14 days is 478.4. The positive test rate in the last 7 days stands at 51.2%.

On 28 July, 190 residents were vaccinated against COVID-19: 38 with the first vaccine dose, 41 with the second dose and 86 with the third dose.
Twenty-eight people were hospitalised due to COVID-19 on Thursday and now 122 hospital beds allocated for coronavirus patients are occupied.

Four patients are being treated in intensive care units.

On Thursday, 305 molecular PCR tests, 2,014 antigen tests and 161 antibody tests were carried out.
