In her words, the number of full-time workers rose by 31,000, or 5-6 percent, to reach 1.154 million euros in November.

"Unemployment rose significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic and those measures introduced during the second lockdown, they were aimed at preserving jobs, subsidizing those on furlough and also very narrowed-down but targeted post-furlough support to the self-employed had positive impact on the labor market," the minister told a press conference on Friday.

Wages rose 11.5 percent to reach the average of 1,588 euros pre-tax and were 164 euros higher than in 2020.

"The pandemic and lockdown did not prevent average income from growing in the country, and the number of jobholders increased," the minister said.

"Post-tax labor income rose 9.7 percent on average. Taking rising prices into account, the real increase was 4.5 percent, and income growth in Lithuania exceeds that in neighboring countries, therefore, positive tendencies are also expected in 2022," Navickiene said.
