The Ministry of National Defense reported on Wednesday that an annual CRTT meeting, marking the start of the 2022 rotation, was held earlier this week.
According to the vice minister, the developed cyber security project is a capacity recognized in the EU cyber security community and it could be involved as an instrument to support Ukraine.
Not only Belgium, as the project's observer, but also the Czech Republic, Spain, the US and Georgia.
"The Lithuanian-led PESCO Cyber Rapid Response Teams and Mutual Assistance in Cyber Security project is one of the most successful PESCO projects and also the one that has achieved the biggest progress," Abukevicius said.
"Enabling of this force to support EU common security and defense policy missions and operation, as well as for partner Ukraine, would help to ensure even greater confidence in the developed capability," he added.
According to the ministry, this cyber security team includes experts from all the six participating countries, including Lithuania, Poland, the Netherlands, Romania, Croatia and Estonia, with Slovenia set to join in as a seventh member this year.
This year, the forces will be led by Romania.
