The majority of them will also be closed on January 1, with only some Iki or Rimi stores open but also with certain changes to their working time.
On the last day of this year, Iki, Norfa and Lidl stores will be open until 8 p.m., and Maxima and Rimi stores will work longer, until 9 p.m.
Shoppers are advised to watch stores' open times on the other days as they might work shorter hours.
Representatives of the supermarket chains say they want to allow their workers to have rest during the holidays and advise shoppers to shop earlier to avoid queues.
