Court president will propose reopening Atvira Klaipeda case

Gintaras Kryzevicius, president of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, says he is set to submit a proposal on Monday to review the case related to the Office of the Inspector of Journalist Ethics' recent decision on the Klaipeda-based news website Atvira Klaipeda (Open Klaipeda) publication about public procurements.

"I have the only procedural possibility and leverage to ask to reopen the process in this case. I am putting my arguments for and against in place and they will be the basis for the decision I plan to do in the afternoon," Kryzevicius told BNS on Monday.

He says he will probably turn to the SACL's judicial panel and will ask it to resume the process.

"The fact that I am considering it does not necessarily mean I will sign it. (…) But in my existing chain of thoughts, it seems that such a decision will be made," the court president said.

The delfi.lt news website was the first to report on Kryzevicius' plans.
