A total of 94,630 people were vaccinated in the country between last Friday and Thursday, down from 125,718 a week earlier. The number of first vaccine shots administered fell to 61,960, from 107,256.

The daily number of people given the first vaccine shot averaged 8,851 in the week from last Friday to Thursday, down from a record 15,300 a week earlier.

The share of the population given at least one dose ranges from 40.2 percent in Neringa and 36 percent in Birstonas to 13 percent in Visaginas and 12 percent in Salcininkai.

Kaunas continues to rank first among the country's major cities and towns with 25.4 percent, followed by Alytus with 23.7 percent, Panevezys with 21.8 percent, Vilnius with 21 percent, Siauliai with 20.6 percent, and Klaipeda with 19 percent.

People aged between 70 and 79 years remain the age group with the highest vaccination rate, at 61.4 percent. The rate stands at 47.8 percent among those aged 80 years and over, at 41 percent in the 60-69 age group, and at 21.9 percent in the 50-59 group.

A total of 610,150 people in Lithuania, or 21.8 percent of the population, have received their first coronavirus vaccine shots so far and 237,585, or 8.5 percent, have been given the second jab.

The country has received a total of 919,800 vaccine doses and has used 847,735 of them, based on the latest statistics.
